At long last a new post!

Perhaps six or seven years ago a holiday was approaching and Mary and I wanted to get some sweet potatoes at the market.  We looked up the word for sweet potato in Spanish and learned that the word is, “camote.”  Armed with this information we went to the market and bought some camotes to make for our special dinner.

One afternoon I came into the kitchen and Mary explained that she had to throw out all of the camote we had purchased, because they had gone bad.  When she cut into the baked sweet potatos she found the insides all streaked with purple!  It was some time later we learned that the camotes commonly sold in this area are purple.  Actually the more purple the sweeter.
