Completed two paintings this past week, numbers 20 and 21. They’re very simple paintings, but perfect for two special great-grandchildren. I tried something different by using a sponge for the background and the butterflies.

Next week we’ll be taking a trip to Playas to visit our friends Glenda and Bob so I’ll be finishing number 22, Whale Shark, before we leave. I actually see the light at the end of the tunnel, which amazes me. I wasn’t really sure if I would have the inspiration for 26 different paintings and then enough skill to actually sketch them out and paint them artfully enough to be recognizable.  But here I am, painting number twenty-two and have finished the sketches for the next two.  Number twenty-four will be a totally different challenge, lilies using watercolors.   I’ve never painted with watercolors but will give it a try and see what happens. 🙂 If it turns out really awful I’ll go back to acrylics and try the wet on wet method to see if I can put on paper the image in my mind.
