I plan to get back into blog posting soon. For the last few years much of my time has been taken up in the service of caring for my sweet wife, Mary. It was my honor and a great blessing to help make Mary’s life comfortable and we grew ever closer each day as I tried to tend to her needs.
I thank our good friend Lisa for this tribute to my Mary.

Ecuador – Less than a month ago a friend lost his best friend to Covid, and I said to him, “There’s one more star in the heavens smiling down on us.”
He found comfort in that concept. This past week he presented those same words back to me, as I adjusted to the news of the death of my friend Mary McDonald.
Dogpaddling through a lovely collage of memories, I thought that our connection with art was the strongest link, and the images below show the unconditional love that flowed between us.
It takes courage to share works of art, especially when they are in progress, and Mary always invited me into her realm, which was one that I cherished.

We were both so pooped! But there were several more hours to go, so Mary – the trooper – turned to. We had a great time.

Dear John,
My wife and I have followed your blog for many years. Your wife is in heaven now and I pray you take comfort in knowing that the Lord is with us forever. I pray you will continue the blog when you feel the time is right. Your an inspiration to us retirees that want to live overseas.

Thank you, Glenn and your beautiful wife. I am coming around and will start posting regularly. It was a bit of an endurance test for a few years, but God is good and He has supported us through all. Have a great day and know that I know that God lives and loves us all.

It was a sad day getting news of Mary’s passing. Now that all [parents and aunts and uncles are gone, I said we’re next. On my mother’s side of family, 5 of us cousins have died from various reasons out of 25. There are only 5 of us Reinsel cousins, and my sister
Ruth was the first to go, way before her time. Mary, only 3 months younger than I am, was always fun to be with as she was most like my Uncle Bud. Unfortunately, Jim and Lori never really clicked or saw things the way Mary and I did. I hope and pray that Mary did not have to suffer too long, and she may rest in peace. With thoughts and prayers, Cousin Denny. P.S. Donna also sends her prayers.

Denny – I am so sorry that you heard about this here. I thought that you and Mary were Facebook friends and that you would have received the notice there. But, yes – Mary did die peacefully, without prolonged pain. I will send an email with more details. Thank you for your prayers. Love to you both – John
