Here is another addition to the series on Valentine’s Day thoughts.
Valentine’s Day 2010
Red is the color of Valentine’s Day, I guess only the color red would do.
It would not seem right to see a Valentine’s heart painted yellow or green or blue.
Colors add joy and meaning to life that wouldn’t come through in black or grey.
And a time that celebrates romantic love should be a true, “Red-letter Day!”
Though red is the color of blood, without oxygen blood has a bluish hue
Blood needs the life it gets from the lungs to do the job it must do.
Red is the color of fire and though unharnessed fire can bring about harm,
Fire also gives power to engines and is needed to keep people warm.
Red also signifies courage – the trait that makes men do what’s right,
To step into uncharted waters, to walk into the darkness of night.
One, “sees red” when one gets too angry but anger, like fire, gives strength.
Only those stirred with red-heated passion will boldly stretch to new lengths.
On this Valentine’s Day I offer my love colored deeply in red through and through,
To show the depth of the love that burns in my heart eternally only for you.
You give me the fire and courage to live through the ups and downs of life.
This Valentine’s Day I thank God again for giving me such a “red-letter” wife!
Join me as I work to keep the fire burning red this Valentine’s Day and all year long!
Love lives in Ecuador.

Thank you very much, Cindy! I like writing poetry even though I am a bit old-fashioned in my style. It is a good form of self-expression.
