The other day I was downtown and a friend of ours asked me how I was doing. I told him, “Todo bien. Por que no? Vivamos en Paraiso!” We laughed, but everyone present agreed. Everything is good. Why not? We live in paradise!
That same evening Mary came across a video produced to promote Manabí Province. I laughed at the first line of the video that said that Manabí is your paradise in Ecuador because, “Manabí es todo!” Quite a boast to claim that a small province in Ecuador is, “everything”, but there really might be some truth behind that claim.
Some quick facts:
- Ecuador is a relatively small country at 109,483 square miles. Compare that to the state of Nevada that has 110,567 square miles.
- Manabí is one of 24 provinces (similar subdivision to a state in the United States) comprised of just 7,312 square miles. Compare that to Riverside County, California at 7,303 square miles.
- Manabí province has a population of approximately 1.5 million people. Compare that to Riverside County again with a population of about 2.5 million
Okay – enough of the Wikipedia stuff. Just click on this link to see why Manabí es todo!

Now you know why we say that…
Life is good in Ecuador!
