Our daughter Carrie came for a visit to check out our home here in Ecuador. It was only for two weeks which was enough time to see the coastal area where we live in our small fishing village, San Clemente. When we finally stopped “sight-seeing” and took some down time I asked if she was interested in doing a mola inspired painting. I got a resounding yes so I pulled out the paints and some art board and off she went. Carrie’s first three projects were gifts for her children , Cassandra, Chloe and Damian who were back in the states with their dad. Using a sponge for the background colors and adding the seashells that she collected from San Clemente and Canoa beaches, she lovingly created these beauties.
After choosing a Mola designed that she liked, she measured, sketched and using acrylics she created her first acrylic painting.
We think she did a fabulous job and hopefully she’ll continue to take time out for art.
