To help celebrate Mary’s birthday, we went out to dinner with our good friends Wayne and Jan. There is a wonderful Italian restaurant in Crucita called Napoli though most locals know it as Fiore’s pizzeria. This was our first visit though Wayne and Jan have been fortunate to have dined there numerous times over the past three years. It sits right on the malecon towards the north part of town.
It’s located on the second floor , a fairly small , very clean dining room nicely decorated.
As soon as we were seated, we were brought an appetizer (not on the menu) of eggplant strips with garlic, herbs and olive oil and fresh slices of italian bread. A very delicious start to an amazing meal, to help celebrate Mary’s birthday.
The menu is extensive and hard choices had to be made but we finally decided to start with the Italian salad. Our friends were wise to order one to share while we each ordered our own. A few bites had been taken before we realized we needed a picture.
Mary and Wayne ordered the fettuccine y cameron and Jan and John ordered the lasagna.
Now the menu did say cameron, these shrimp were huge…definitely langostinos. Hmm, perhaps a birthday special.
All the food was delicious !
Fiore and his staff of one did an amazing job in the kitchen and you couldn’t have asked for a more congenial host. The perfect birthday dinner ended with a surprise from Fiore. The lights went out and here comes Fiore carrying a tiramisu dessert with a candle. Such a sweet surprise.
A special thank you to Jan and Wayne for a perfect birthday celebration !!
